Najla's dance journey began in her early childhood in Washington state, where she trained in ballet, tap, and hip-hop. As a teenager, she transitioned to belly dance, and by age 16, she was producing dance productions at local theaters. By 18, Najla was performing regularly at restaurants and events around town.
In her early 20s, Najla moved to Europe, working as a full-time belly dancer at upscale nightclubs and restaurants in Greece, France, and England. She then traveled to Egypt for intensive private instruction with the renowned master Raqia Hassan. Returning to Paris, Najla auditioned and was selected to join the world-famous Belly Dance Superstars company. Instead, she opted to return to Seattle and create her own troupe, Fleurs d'Egypte Dance Company, which placed 2nd at the 2007 IBDC competition in Las Vegas and completed international dance contracts in China, Turkey, and Mexico.
To expand her company's repertoire, Najla continued her training, mastering Hula, Bollywood, and Samba. In 2013, she traveled to Lebanon to perform and study with Eyad Maleab, dance coach to Middle Eastern stars. As a soloist, Najla has completed contracts at prestigious hotels across the globe, from Dubai to the US Virgin Islands.
After three years in the Middle East, Najla settled in Hawaii, founding the Island Spice Dance Company. She now resides in San Francisco, available for captivating performances throughout the Bay Area.
